It's not often you can get your claim to fame but last week Julia Immonen and her Row For Freedom team met Prime Minister David Cameron at No. 10 Downing Street to talk about their fantastic campaign against Sports Trafficking and their enormous fundraising effort of Rowing the Atlantic. They were sporting our gloriously made t-shirts with a list of all their sponsors.
The first female crew of 6 plan to row 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean unaided. It should take 35-45 days from La Gomera (Canary Islands) to Barbados.
Christopher Columbus followed a similar route when he discovered America in 1492 and later in the 1800's the Atlantic was used to transport millions of slaves to the USA.
The team have an enormous amount of support from many people and companies including Manpower Group, Steve Redgrave and Bear Grylls to name but a few. We wish Julia and her team all the luck in this fantastic feat and look forward to hearing about their journey and learning about the awareness of Child Trafficking this event has created. For more information visit the Sports against Trafficking website, which is Julia's very own charity. http://sportagainsttrafficking.com/
Personalised Pet Mugs
In other news, Something Personal may be visible in your local vet practice. We are teaming up with local Vets to offer our photo mugs to their clients. Pets themed products always make great gifts and so we are offering our personalised mugs with pictures of your pets on and in return for every mug, we donate 20% of the mug order to the local Vets of your choice.
Exciting Times So we've been limited now for almost a year (well, 10 months) and things have gone from strength to strength. We've launched our new and improved website, www.somethingpersonal.co.uk where you can upload your images and personalise your products online before ordering. We've drastically expanded our range of products to include things such as personalised clocks, personalised purses and bags, and personalised jigsaw puzzles. We have also expanded our range of template design mugs - these are mug designs that you can personalise with your own text to suit the recipient.
We have also upgraded our equipment so we now use A3 printers instead of A4 allowing a much larger and wider coverage on all of our personalised products, particularly our personalised t-shirts.
Thanks to our new website and increasing range of products we have seen a great lift in business and are now looking to expand by introducing a range of Something Personal Representatives who will be working in their own areas promoting our range of personalised merchandise to local schools, businesses and in and around their local communities. This is a great way for people to make money by earning commission for each and every product their customer purchases! For more information on this exciting programme contact us by email: sales@email.somethingpersonal.co.uk
We are also always looking for feedback on our site, our service, and most importantly our products. If you have purchased a product from us we are always hoping you can come back to the site and take 2 minutes to write a quick review on the product. It's really easy, simply find the product you purchased, and click "Write Review" You can then rate it out of 5 stars and write a personal review. We constantly read our customer's reviews and use the feedback to modify and improve our business.
Thank you for your ongoing support and hope to see you some time soon!
Something more Personal! So my other half and I are getting married in June and we are both having our Stag and Hen do's this weekend!! Lauren, my other half is off to Longleat Safari Park followed by a weekend of boozing in Bournemouth with 8 others.
I am off to Go Ape, swinging through the trees of Bracknell like a nutter and then off to London in style via a rather large Hummer Limo! This should all be rather exciting and hope I don't end up with too much of a sore head coming Monday morning!
We've made some hen night t-shirts for Lauren's hen party to take on safari so everyone can identify each other whilst hiding amongst the monkeys and hippos!
We are also in the throws of testing and launching an all new and improved website with lots of great new features. The most important being an all-in-one shopping cart with image upload facility as well as variants for selecting mugs and adding text for your stag and hen do's! Watch this space...
It's all been a bit crazy as a lot of it has been last minute but never mind, we don't like to let people down so we've been working hard to get it all finished.
We have also been steaming along with mug sales this month seeing our mugs in The Card Department in Maidenhead and Camberley starting to fly off the shelves! Also a big thanks to Sevenoaks Junior Hockey Team for their large mug order!
Something Personal Ltd now on eBay It's been a while since we wrote on our blog... we've been busy listing our products on ebay to make is easier for our customers to find their very own personalised products and gifts. You can still buy through the website, but if you would prefer to purchase through our eBay shop for peace of mind you now can!
Don't forget you can order personalised t-shirts for just about anything, whether it's a group of stag night t-shirts or a one-off personalised t-shirt for a birthday or leaving present!
We have 2 options: personalised photo t-shirts (where you can add any photo or image to a white t-shirt) and text t-shirts (where you can write any message you like in a number of great fonts and vibrant vinyl colours), or you can pick from our stag and hen night t-shirt designs. These can be purchased through our Something Personal website or our dedicated stag and hen website, www.somethingstag.co.uk where you can personalise your t-shirts online!
Christmas fast approaches... With only around 6 weeks until Christmas people are now (hopefully!) starting to get their Christmas shopping underway and think of presents to buy their friends, colleagues and loved ones. In this recession and troubling financial time people are tightening their belts and looking at spending less money than perhaps previoulsy spent on Christmas and Christmas presents. What better way to buy a meaningful gift than to buy a personalised gift? They are not expensive and go a long way because it shows that you care. We have a range of personalised mugs on offer this Christmas as well as a personalised reindeer and personalised teddy bear that you can write your very own personal message or have your favourite photo printed to.
We have various designs available for you to personalise including coloured mugs with you own personal message or text and a very festive personalised christmas dog mug that you can write your own Christmas message on.
Alongside all the Christmas personalised gifts we have been heavily involved with printing corporate clothing over the past few weeks including some hi-vis vests for Cranleigh Arts Centre and some sweatshirts and polo shirts for Shuhari Self Defence, who have just opened a new session at Larchfield school in Maidenhead. Shuhari is a form of self defense training loosely based on Karate. For more information visit their website.
We can also print personalised messages onto Christmas stockings and t-shirts etc. For more information give us a call on 01628 829218
It's Stag Season! We've been so busy the last few weeks making t-shirts for all kinds of customers, especially for stag do's. We've made a number of t-shirts for various marketing and PR companies for their cliets' local events but thought we would share some of the photos our stag customers have kindly shared with us.
Personalised Stag night & Hen night t-shirts It's that time of year when more and more people seem to be going on their stag and hen nights, and because of the awful English weather, a lot of people are now opting for the sunny, warmer climate of Europe and the Med. We have been inundated with last minute orders for stag night t-shirts and hen night t shirts this Summer and below is an example of just one of our happy customers...
We will add more pictures as and when we get the photos in. We have also produced a lot of group holiday t-shirts for all those people jetting off on their jolly boys holidays and girls weekends away! For more info on our range of t-shirts, click here to check out the website.
A great day for a run! It was a lovely Bank Holiday in May this year for the annual Bupa 10k run in London. We were asked by a group of local friends to print their running name on their sponsored t-shirts for their run. The "Flackwell Runners" from Flackwell Heath and Marlow were a team who trained long and hard to try and beat their targets from last year.
It was a great day and we would like to congratulate everyone who took part and raised money for their chosen charity, Sue Ryder Care.
Adding your own personalised tags to your t-shirts is a great way of bringing your team together. Here at Something Personal we produce personalised t-shirts and polo shirts from scratch or you can add personalised text, messages, and images to your own t-shirts as the Flackwell Runners did.
Personalised Merchandise There are many different companies offering various types of personalised products at the moment. More often than not you find that all you can personalise is your name, such as a personalised mug with your name on it. That's all well and good but why not take it further?
We use a clever technique called dye sublimation, where we print your selected design onto a specialist paper using liquid based inks. The image is then placed onto your selected product and heated to a certain temperature depending on the type of product. At that temperature the ink turns to vapour and is absorbed by the product.

Using this technique is much better than conventional printing as the images are more vivid and last much longer as they are embedded within the products. Take our personalised mugs for example, once cooled your image is inside the mug rather than printed on the outside, meaning it will not scratch off and is dishwasher safe!
If you are a regular visitor to our website you will have noticed quite a few changes recently (with more to come!), especially the addition of our online uploader meaning you can upload your images directly to our server without having to email them after you place your order. It just guarantees that your images have reached us before you part with your money, which gets my vote!
Check out the video below as an example of how a personalised mug is made.
